A large black bear's attempt to investigate a parked vehicle ended in tragedy. The bear's weight is estimated to be around 300 pounds. It is thought that something inside the vehicle attracted the bear. After gaining entry, the bear caused significant damage to the interior before becoming stuck.

The incident occurred during a period of increased bear activity. Drought conditions are believed to be a contributing factor, as they have reduced the bears' natural food sources.

Further information about this incident is available from Colorado Parks and Wildlife, who are tracking bear activity in the area.
