A former U.S. Rep. has been banned from a prediction marketplace platform. George Santos is the first person to receive a lifetime ban from Kalshi. The ban was issued after Santos bet against his own announced plans to attend an event.

The company found that Santos made statements to manipulate the price of contracts he intended to purchase. As a result, Kalshi fined Santos $71,356 and barred him from accessing its platform.
